In the same way as on other tablets - with a software keyboard. This is still in development. Unlike some other tablets on the market, there is also a USB port if you want to connect a hardware keyboard. — Sridhar 10:27, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Names vs Versions

Current Official Name "XO 3.0" ?

If so then please make a new page on this wiki to reduce future confusion with the earlier mockups :)
I can assure you that the official name is XO-3, just like the first XO was XO-1. We never intend to design a second. And the ID will change further between now and production. Products change as they go through the development phases. The original mockups were just that, ideal products. Likewise, the A1 mockups shown at CES, while functional from a hardware point of view, can't be mass produced, and need design modifications to make the industrial designers happy and meet drop testing. The XO-1 went through the same progression. --Wad 02:34, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanx for the clarification. --Chief Mike 18:15, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

Competing product, competing project to the XO3 tablet

Competing product, competing project is the 99€ tablet proposed at to the Belgian education sector by www.tabblet.com . A comparison with the XO and strategy by the OLPC commpunity in Belgium: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Competing_projects_in_Belgium

Not really competing, since we aren't currently doing an XO-3. --Quozl 22:36, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Not really abandoned?

The tablet idea was not abandoned but taken further in another constellation. The tablet you now see that is promoted by olpc is this one: http://one.laptop.org/about/xo-tablet
