== Japanese language code ==

Just verified in [http://www.iana.org/assignments/language-subtag-registry IANA's language registry] that the code for Japanese is NOT '''jp''' but '''ja'''. I can move the pages later, but if you start another page, remember to use the '''ja''' postfix :)

Welcome!

I 'answered' your post about translating into japanese, but thought a note here would help too. I saw also you edited a couple of /translations sub-pages, so at least you found part of the structure at work, the other two components are the {{Translation}} (used in translated pages) and the {{Translations}} (used in the originals)—there's some documentation in their pages.

Again, welcome and if you have any doubts, please ask! :) --Xavi 22:51, 22 May 2007 (EDT)

I sort of 'fixed' the page names, and did the raw-dump for the One Laptop per Child/lang-jp lang-ja page. Left some notes there. Also, you'll notice that in the blue bar are three unsightly 'red' links:
  1. Template:Translation/translation of/lang-ja
  2. Template:Translation/original/lang-ja
  3. Template:Translation/changes/lang-ja
If you follow those links you can then enter the japanese text for "Translation of", "original" & "changes" so that future translations into japanese have the bar also in japanese (see Translating#multi-lingual navigation templates).
Hope the first dump helps you get started into the translators comunity :) --Xavi 23:16, 22 May 2007 (EDT)

Japanese language code

Just verified in IANA's language registry that the code for Japanese is NOT jp but ja. I can move the pages later, but if you start another page, remember to use the ja postfix :)
