Klingon is a fictional language created for the Star Trek television series and movies. A significant number of Star Trek fans ("Trekkers") dress as Klingons at Science Fiction conventions, and some of them have learned to speak, read, and write in Klingon, using either a Romanized orthography or the pIqaD alphabet. The pIqaD alphabet was rejected for inclusion in Unicode on the first attempt, since there was no published material using it. Since then a Klingon translation of Hamlet has been published, and several blogs and other Web sites in Klingon have abandoned Romanization and begun to use pIqaD exclusively. Klingon keyboards, locales, and fonts (including Code2000) are available.
