First of all, the contributers section looked inappropriate. We sign things on talk pages, sure, and sometimes we point to authors of things, but... that part of that page looked like it was severely glorifying somebody who designed a mouse that might be nice. |

Mediawiki: has its own namespace for special interface strings. Almost all are editable from within the wiki; a few others are editable from the code itself on our dev server. |

The whole page is suspect. It looks like an advertisement. Probably it should be deleted. OLPC does not exist to help some random inventor license his patent. |

Do you know for a fact that OLPC is preparing the mouse for production, or that countries will be getting it for use with the laptops? If not, that's a big strong strike against the article existing at all. |

If you look at someone else's contribution history (from a userpage, see the "user contributions" link at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar), you can see each change they have made; and whether or not it is still the "(top)" revision for that page. Then you can |

* choose the last good revision in the history and click on its date |

* edit and save that revision with no new changes (edit summary: 'rv vandalism' or 'rvv' or similar). |

The addition of the gigantic flow chart has moved all of the text to the bottom of the table of contents. This makes the page appear to be blank. Unless someone know to click on the table of contents links on the right, they won't see any of the text. |
|||
I would strongly suggest you either remove the flow chart or put it at the bottom and refer to it using a link at the top. |

Because it's horribly out of date. Oh yes, this page is absolutely necessary it shouldn't be gotten rid of. The Price list for the solar panels for small runs is likely posted on their site, and I seem to recall being around $35 for 5w and up. Apparently shipping is a real pain and personally I would refer people directly to Diane (XO Explosion) who is planning on reselling them retail and does much better on shipping. |

Richard Smith is the hardware lead on 95% of our power issues, including the Multi-battery charger. There are a few demos that he's created, but there aren't any machines available to the public yet. |
|||
Really I would probably be ok if each of these devices had their own page eventually, or at least stubs. But I haven't really thought of what the layout of all of our Hardware pages should be. In the meantime I would be ecstatic if you would update what you could. [[User:Sethwoodworth|Seth]] 18:31, 30 July 2008 (UTC) |

Conversations and price lists tend to get handed around in high level business meetings and are very very up to date and include volume information. It's not really possible to keep information like that up to date out here in user space. But overall this is a useful page and useful information. Please keep it up. Hi Josh, |
|||
I'm a new product manager working at OLPC. We had a problem where some of our field engagement managers thought that OLPC sells and delivers solar panels and other power gear. So I put a note on these two pages to make it clear that we don't sell them: |

We do have some demand for better power solutions. It may not be my area. Still if you want to be involved and Kim thinks its a good idea I can try to copy you in the loop. Send me an e-mail greg at laptop dot org. |
