We are looking for interested persons willing to volunteer their time to assist in the first OLPC School Pilot in the Philippines. We are currently in discussions with a group of former employees of the National Computer Center (NCC) who are willing to sponsor the pilot at the Lubang Integrated School at Lubang, Mindoro. This project is in honor of Lubang Mayor Juan M. Sanchez who was the first managing director of the NCC. At the time the NCC was established in 1971 its mandate was to provide information bases for integrated planning and implementation of development programs and operational activities in the government. |

Mabuhay! Welcome to OLPC Philippines
OLPC Philippines (OLPC PH) is a grassroots coalition of forward-looking and like-minded individuals living in the Philippines and abroad who are working to bring the ideals of OLPC to Filipino children. Please join and share your ideas - we're still very much in the formative stages, so people who are eager and willing to jump in are very, very welcome.

The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Foundation
The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit corporation registered with the Philippine Securities & Exchange Commission on 17 August 2009 (Registration No. CN200912617).
We are now available to accept donations in support of the program. We will inform you shortly once we have secured the tax exempt status on whether your donations can be claimed as a tax deduction. Donations will be used to mainly to procure the OLPC XO laptop and out-of-pocket costs to set-up the classrooms for its use.
We have as an objective the deployment of the OLPC program in all the public primary schools in the Philippines as an immediate goal. We are open to work with interested private schools to deploy an OLPC program on the condition this is fully funded by the school or its donor sponsor.
At the same time, we will seek to help groups to start similar OLPC deployments in other 9 ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) member countries. These countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. At the moment there are existing groups in Cambodia and Malaysia.
