Welcome to the pages for OLPC Guinea; the Republic of Guinea.
For newcomers:there are no less than 4 countries with the name Guinea in them, and they all have their french, spanish and portuguese equivalents and to make things even more complicated, there are official names and short names. Before you board an airplane or make any expenses, double check you're dealing with the right country and note that it is agreed at OLPC not to use the official names, yet the ISO standard short names of countries:
- The Republic of Guinea or Guinea=ISO standard short name
- The Republic of Guinea-Bissau or Guinea-Bissau=ISO standard short name
- The Republic of Equatorial Guinea or Equatorial Guinea=ISO standard short name
- The Independent State of Papua New Guinea or Papua New Guinea=ISO standard short name
