I've seen a forum for XO hacks; and was just talking to christoph about how to hack your sugar colors, update an image on the fly, and run the new airplane mode... the sorts of things that road-warriors will want to know before they know about the latest activities or security features. We should probably poke that forum to see if they can maintain these pages; and perhaps this calles for a Hack your XO page here? 18.85.18.90 18:55, 22 December 2007 (EST) |

Volunteers portal
Howdy, Mike. I've been following your blog for a while, but don't think I've introduced myself yet - I'm Mel, an intern at the 1cc office primarily working on Content (but slowly edging towards working on the "wait... volunteers don't have a way to get involved!" problem).
Thought you might enjoy some discussions we (primarily Mitchell, Nikki, Ronny, and myself) have been having on the "need better ways to get people to Participate" front - in particular, OLPC volunteers portal and User:Mchua/Volunteers portal, though there's also been discussion on emulation, Jams, and a bit of Summer of Content (as in, having interns tackle the OLPC-volunteer interface as a SoCon project). Would love to talk with you about what you're doing with developer relations, and bounce off some ideas. I'm usually on #olpc and #olpc-content as mchua. Mchua 05:35, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
From convo today
Some places to point interest towards (folks can ping me on all of these atm):
- Jams - if people want to run one at their school/location
- Grassroots groups & country groups - like OLPC Austria, OLPC Philippines, etc. if people want to start a local group, and there's at least 10 of them incl. at least one person who wants to lead
- University program - also covers things like classes, community service projects... see also Classrooms for Free Culture
- Participate - to get refactored this weekend with the contacts you asked for. Also, Projects and Content projects needs an overhaul... I'll see what I can do.

Emulation overhaul
Moved to Talk:Emulating_the_XO#Emulation_overhaul.
documentation interest
There are some folks who want to dive into documentation; I'm pointing them at you and Todd K. among others for tips and advice. Sj talk 12:23, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
Talk in Taiwan nov 2-4?
Mcfletch, there's a converence on open software for laptops going on in Taipei in a couple of weeks; they want someone from OLPC to talk. Would you be interested? They can cover expenses, and want someone who really knows the software team and development; they'll have the sw lead from Asus's eee project there along with a bunch of their devs hoping to build open source community around their platform. Sj talk 18:23, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
Measure Screenshots
There is an updated screeenshot of Measure Activity on Measure.
Also Ive uploaded more screenshots, though have yet to put them on the main Measure page.
