OLPC Vermont

Hello,
My name is Chris Bresee and I am working to build up a group called OLPC Vermont. I noticed your
work with the college and I was wondering how many of the people you have been working with
have a emulator or a XO. I have been creating a list of all the owners and Emulators and i was
wondering if you were interested in working with our currently small group. You can contact me at wolfeater92@gmail.com

Thanks,
Chris Bresee on April 7 2008

Hi Chris.

I've purchased four XO laptops for Marlboro College; we've had one go missing/stolen and have three left. I'm aware of another student or two who've also purchased XO laptops for their personal use.

Several of us have played around a bit with running Sugar under and emulator.

The four students in our Fall 2008 OLPC Seminar have been using the laptops for various things during the term, and generally exploring how they work and what they can do. So far we've had mixed reactions to the hardware and software. The seminar has another month to run, at which point the three laptops will be back in my care.

I'm not sure how what we're doing might connect up with what you're trying to set up - we're at the far southeast corner of the state, so face to face meetings with much of the rest of of Vermont aren't common.

Where are you located and what's in your situation pulls you into the OLPC community?

Let me know if you have specific ideas for collaboration.

Regards,

- Jim Mahoney
