Papiamento is the native language of the Ducth Caribbean islands Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire. The langage has small variations on the different islands. Most of these variations are localized in pronounciation and since papipamentu is mostly written phonetically, words are syntactically written differently. From the perspective of ISO language standards there is no distinction among the different variations. There has been one language code reserved for papiamento. The variation of the language which has been used in translation corresponds with the language version spoken on Curacao.
