  13. Battery type
  14. Battery Serial number
  15. Problem statement (from the end user), text
  16. Actual problem found, text
  17. Root Cause, text
  18. Bug(s) in trac (could be more than one)
  19. Resolution

Knowledge Base

I'd like to put together a knowledge base to be linked from the support pages. I'd like this to be a well-organized combination of FAQ and How-To answers. Ideally items from bug tracking and from the product returns database could be directly entered into the knowledge base system so we don't have duplicate these items.

First I need a tool or need to know how to use this wiki for that purpose.

Adminship

Dear Kim,

You are now a wiki administrator. Please use your powers wisely to keep the wiki clean. Please avoid: protecting pages, blocking people (as opposed to bots) or any IP ranges for more than a month, and deleting too boldly. Please do: scan special:recentchanges for vandalism, use your reversion powers (view a user's special:contributions to revert changes to a set of pages at a time), and help other users out when they need help. For more help about being an admin, see the help page on the MetaWiki.

Keyboard process

Kim,

I've put in some work to make it easier to find clear information on keyboards on the wiki (mostly by improving nomenclature and linking of existing Keyboard pages. Walter had been encouraging this clarification effort that started in several places before settling in on the newly created Conventions page, User_talk:Walter#Devanagari.2FNepali, User_talk:CharlesMerriam. There remain a few open questions that are laid out in this table. Please note that the current OLPC Turkey Q-Type Keyboard does not contain the xkb information one finds on all other keyboard pages and generally does not conform. I'd love to talk to someone at OLPC about the remaining questions and complete the improvements to organization (for instance, Manufacturing_Data page is protected and I cannot update the links to the remnamed keyboard pages as I have for all other instances of moved pages. Thanks for this info. User:Arjs and User:Bernie have been helping with xkb info and other keyboard details, so please get them involved in discussions. I'm not sure how to add people to 'editors' of a page...I'm happy to update links. Kimquirk 22:54, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Odd Keyboard edits

I saw some edits to OLPC_US_International_Keyboard by anonymous IP Special:Contributions/24.138.133.239. I can't really tell if these are legit, but if they are not, they are subtle enough to be disruptive down the road. If I read it right they change "qwerty" to "twerty" and "QWERTY" to "THARTY". Something just doesn't seem right, but I'm not confident in reverting without a second reviewer. Cjl 01:52, 30 April 2008 (EDT)

Thanks to Mitch for reviewing these and determining that reverting was needed. Cjl 15:27, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for pointing this out, Cjl. Kimquirk 22:38, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
