Disassembly of the bottom half of a mass-production G1G1 XO-1. A look under the membrane in a corner of the keyboard. The rubber membrane just presses on a plastic membrane that's sealed onto a circuit board. This makes it more moisture- and dirt-resistant than the standard setup where the bottom of each rubber key is conductive and presses directly on the circuit board.
