Subject: Request for collaboration

Dear Dupreefoundation, Dear All at OLPC Afghanistan, Dear Plain INK,

I'm a member of the OLPC Community and found out about your activities reading in Afghanistan via some UN and EU websites. Do you organizations know each other? Here's your respective websites:

- www.dupreefoundation.org - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Afghanistan - http://www.plainink.org/

With some partners we are partially using similar techniques for peace restoration, community building, education in war affected zones as you. Do you know OLPC-the One Laptop Per Child educational initiative? We've built this page to explain things: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Afghanistan As an example : We collaborate with OBJECTIF BROUSSE - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OBJECTIF_BROUSSE_Ecoles_OLPC - in the war affected zone between the RDCongo and Ruanda. We help increase community resilience with hyper-mobility: when the rebels approach, we have a network "radio tam-tam" contacts informing us, we just make sure we can be packed and reach the MONUSCO - Blue Helmets refugee camps in a record time before the rebels can attack us. The OLPC-XO-XS Laptop-Server combination, really are schools that are packed to such an extend they can fit in a box: a laptop. And we can immediately continue school in the refugee camps. Next to that we've wrapped up all this experience in paid "Master- and intro-classes", we're giving to fundraise.

These OLPC XO laptops can hold 1000 ebooks. Did you know that? Possibly some of your books in their pdf or ebook versions could have their place there.

There is an OLPC deployment of some 4700 XO's already. You can find the list of the schools here: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Afghanistan

We are starting some fundraising activities for further deployments. Are you interested in teaming-up?

Looking forward to your reply,

Sincerely, --SvenAERTS 13:22, 29 May 2013 (UTC)
