A topic that's ever increasing in relevance because of the increased effects of the Global Climate Destabilization.

Imagine sturdy PV powered laptops that put themselves automatically into a grid, allowing free voip-calling, chat and tele-medicine. Welcome to the OLPC XO-XS !

In Uruguay, Peru, Ruanda, ALL kids aged 5 till 15 have an XO-XS laptop and this since 2010. Australia, and many island states are also on that road. At about 190€/laptop.7 years average age= 27 €/year.child including portable PV panel. Made to be repaired and rugged to withstand kids handling,every XO can hold about 1000 ebooks; so ALL school- and exercice books for a WHOLE school career and many other useful books on how to purify water with clay and saw-dust, how to make bale-houses, how to get a micro-loan and start-up a little busines, 1001 small business ideas, and many many more.
