Disassembly and reassembly

Tools:

  • \#1 Phillips screwdriver
  • 3/8"? 8mm? open end wrench or needle-nose pliers
  1. Make sure XO is unplugged.

  1. Remove battery

  1. Open computer to upright position

  1. Turn screen sideways

  1. Remove two screws on bottom of body.

    1. Turn screen the other way and remove two screws.

  1. Remove side covers.

  1. Slide screen bezel down and remove.

  1. Remove loose griefpad.

  1. Remove four large screws holding screen

  • Slide screen down to reveal two ribbon cable connecters

  • Using pull tab provided, disconnect screen from small connector.

  • Turn large connector cover up, and with provided pull tab, remove connector.

  • Remove screen

  • Remove four screws holding hinge to base

  1. Remove screws on main board cover

  1. Remove screws on metal plate on main board

  1. Unscrew and remove green plastic bits on keyboard assembly
