Introduction
The purpose of our one day event is to generate continued interest in working with One Laptop Per Child and produce tangible outputs for the project. During the afternoon, there will be short presentations and discussions led by local professors, students, and OLPC staff. Topics of work and discussion take on a wide range, including education, social entrepreneurship, power generation, interface design, and open source programming.
The event, though focused primarily on Olin, Babson, and Wellesley College students, is open to anyone who would like to attend. Activities start at noon on Saturday, February 16 in the Olin College dining hall.
What is a Jam?
An OLPC Jam is a content creation crunch that gets participants from idea to reality in just a few days. By the end of the Jam, you'll have something finished to test with local schoolchildren (who serve as judges for the event). It's a great way to get started developing for OLPC.
