The OLPC wiki does not necessarily operate along Wikipedia policy lines (and I am no setter of policy, just another volunteer), but there is much to be admired and learned from their example. For instance, Wikipedia has a stated policy on civility and another that one should assume good faith which are worthy of consideration. From the posting of your most recent comment, it is not clear if you are referring to Seth's words or mine, but in either case, while your comment contains much that is true and clearly well-intentioned, I would like to suggest that the tone could perhaps be more civil.

If you read my comment to Seth's response, you will see that I share your concerns about the naivete of lightly dismissing regulatory or ethical concerns. However, I can tell you from having taken the time to communicate with Seth (by e-mail and IRC), that what may certainly be viewed as an excess of youthful enthusiasm on the part of one very active and productive OLPC volunteer should not be confused with a patronizing or negligent attitude, nor with an imminent threat to public safety. The concerns you voice are not unreasonable, but it may be more effective to engage in conversation rather than attack. Cjl 20:22, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
