Project description

There is no set format for this section, and it can be as long or as short as you want. What do you want to do, why do you want to do it, and how will it happen? What kinds of people would be good at working on this? How will you know if you've succeeded? What similar things have been done before? You can supplement (and should) your application with external links to helpful resources, but a reader should be able to understand the project you are proposing even if they only read the abstract you've written here.

From the Free Culture group: We know that there are some sites like this in the works, but we'd like to create something student-friendly that will help people find, format, and print public domain books found on project guttenberg and the internet archive. This is a pretty easy site to make, but it needs to be something non-tech-savvy students feel comfortable with. So a lot of this will focus on aesthetics

• Chriswaterguy - I've created Appropedia's Public Domain Search which is working quite well, giving valuable results (but still needs tweaking to reduce the amount of non-PD hits).
