Lacking any real knowledge about music, the following links may help decide upon which are more relevant and locally used:

www.etnohistoria.com.ar has some ilustrations and sound samples
www.elfolkloreargentino.com has a nice overview, descriptions, name variations, etc.
www.universia.net has a very nice index of musical resources, including many links to museums and other sites about music (not just argentinean). Probably a good starting point to find lots of info.
