Dear all, |
|||
together with Giulia D'AMICO, I'm responsible for developing an Entity that's going to unlock the "CO2e" or "Kyoto Protocol"-Potential for OLPC and its spin-outs. |
|||
How about showing people/ kids the XO in person? |
|||
I want to and need to engage the OLPC-community. |
|||
Herewith my Request For Comments on my [[OLPCO2e]]. I've had no guidelines from management. |
|||
All the channels listed are tech, but with internet connections |
|||
Thx and looking forward to collaborating and the interaction. |

flakey, and access to XO 1.5+ limited, how does one show |

: It sounds like an interesting program -- how can people get involved with its development directly, other than by joining the mailing list? Are there detailed pages that need more data or other input? Are you already talking to environment grps for support? 05:26, 27 March 2009 (UTC) |

- We have formed a new mailing list for Summer of Code.

- Moved EToys question to Talk:Etoys#Loading_a_project. —Joe 13:55, 2 January 2008 (EST)
- I want to edit this page. It says I am not allowed, because it does not accept anonymous edits, however I am logged in. So what is wrong here? —David 10:10, 22 January 2009 (EST)
- The page is protected (only sysops can edit). Semi-protection means only registered, logged in users can edit, which is a slightly lower level of protection. Unfortunately, the level of vandalism (from both anon IP and registered sock-puppets) has been high, and so certain critical pages have been fully protected, like this one. I have made a copy of the Communication Channels page here User:Cjl/Sandbox3, please feel free to make any desired edits there and I will transfer them over. cjl 23:58, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. I made my edit, it is just a trivial typo fix. The more useful change would be to edit the explanation for why normal users are not allowed to edit this page, so new users do not get frustrated. David 19:23, 25 January 2009 (EST)
Forums
on December 27, 2007, at 17:16 User:Phil, real name Phil Bordelon, added an unsigned link to http://olpcnews.com/forum/
two hours later, that same day at 19:16, User:Firefoxman, real name unknown, revised Phil's version adding that it was (infrequented by developers) giving no proof, or reason, or authority for this addition. BTW, FFM is apparently an administrator, or so his user page says.
Subsequently User:Mburns, real name Michael Burns, edited to its current form A popular forum but not frequented by developers
On April 22 I added actual numbers reflecting the "action" in each of these forums.
It is my opinion that the issue of developers coming to this one or another is moot, even, even if it were real, which I respectfully dispute.
I makes me feel that the but purposefully attempts to belittle the effort of the volunteer community compared to the OLPC hires, being just an opinion in the absence of solid numbers. Of course Firefoxman can prove his point by presenting solid numbers as to how many developers go to one or the other, if that matters (I don't think it does).
Wouldn't it be better, if such a distinction is necessary, how many solutions are found to problems, in each?
My experience so far has shown me that there is great people in either set, so I am erasing both comments.
