This page has a more up-to-date location: Hardware specifications
A friend recently suggested to me that the outside of the XO be covered with "Lego bumps". This would both serve as a texture for gripping as well as a base for constructing Lego creations.
The educational use of this notion would come in the form of serving as a base for a Lego Mindstorms project. The Mindstorms platform has become one of the best robotic platforms for beginners to "cut their teeth" on. Making the XO able to be incorporated into the project would add one more level of adaptability as well as help student see the connection between hardware and software.
(Perhaps Lego would be interested in assisting OLPC with this.) TommyGober 18:32, 17 August 2007 (EDT)
