Comments and questions on this project, to begin development of a project plan, starting with an examination of the Team Mission: "To deliver a proof of concept that demonstrates how to create custom curriculum materials from Wikipedia for OLPC." / Proof of concept implies that we have developed a process for creating custom materials from Wikipedia and tested it to some extent, ideally with teachers who normally create custom curriculum materials. "Our objectives include: use DITA to pull content from Wikipedia in the DITA format deliver Wikipedia resources in an interchange-friendly and semantically-rich set of DITA-specialized topics that can be used as classroom materials integrate DITA topics using a DITA map derived from a wiki slice" / We need to invent the method for pulling content (does this exist yet?), some kind of selection criteria or a way for the teacher to set up such criteria, and some basic ways for teachers to review, organize and add to the content on the XO. / I would love to have a glossary of terms: wiki slice, curriculum. There is an excellent discussion thread about selection methodologies from Wikipedia (for WP version 0.7) on the wikireader list cjl 15:52, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
