Project description

[Wikieducator is a community sponsored by the Commonwealth of Learning where educators develop and share open content curricular materials. We are looking for ideas for how to get more teachers into the community and make it easier for them to post and share their content. Please help us brainstorm proposals here on what kind of sample lessons we could develop as good examples for teachers looking to create their own curricula.

Good example content lessons developed on WikiEducator will inspire teachers and students to develop free content for education, show off "cool" or unorthodox ways of making learning resources that people may not normally think of, and also teach people something useful. Brainstorm ideas below.

As projects get more fleshed out and developed, they can become their own proposals; see directions on how to post a project proposal on the Summer of Content projects page.

  • A learning resource that does not use any words at all (no need for translation), but only pictures and videos for teaching.
  • Learning resources on something that is not a traditional school subject - dancing, for instance, or how to play a sport.
  • Lessons plans teaching children how to make their own open content projects (starting a school newspaper, putting on a play, shooting a movie, etc).
