Welcome!

I'm looking to meet people involved in the project, whether within the OLPC team or other stakeholders. Say hello below wherever it makes sense to. Ideas & Pointers engouraged.

Ongoing Dialogue

There are several prongs of interest, so I'm going to split out discussion of them to sub-pages here for now. I'm inclined to keep the discourse here rather than via email so that others can hopefully add to it, please feel free to email [bnardone@pathfind.org] or call me anytime at c617-429-8699.

OLPC Intership at Pathfinder =

At least one internship available - First up will be creating some games for the OLPC that involve Reproductive Health messages.

Volunteers?

Contact me. Volunteer-at-home is possible. There's some regulation or legal thing that means I can't bring in people to work at the office unless they're getting school credit (or paid, which isn't gonna happen at least in the very short term though it might at some point not too far from now).

People

OLPC People:

I met SJ briefly at a round table last week, but haven't yet met others from OLPC. I'd love to hear from anyone. Drop me a note here to say hello.

NGO People:

  • say hello here:)

Other People:

  • say hello here:)

Countries

Nigeria

  • I've emailed Mike Egboh, our Nigeria Chief of Party (country office head) to introduce him to the project. He will be here the 6/23 & 6/24. I'm trying to get some time with him then. Not sure if I'll be able to email or talk with him before he arrives, though. Wondering if I might set something up with him and someone(s) at OLPC. Mike is a powerful force in terms of getting things done in Nigeria.
  • I've also started talking to our COMPASS project people, which is another huge project we have in Nigera that involves an Education component with links to many schools.

Peru

  • I've talked with Milka Dinev, our longstanding Chief of Party in Peru, who just took over running our ESD project in DC. Milka is also a powerhouse of connections and productivity. She's very interested in learning more and both helping the project as well as working through the project to advance our mission. more later

Notes from me:

  • I'm only moderately familiar with using MediaWiki. Please forgive any of my misses vis-a-vis things like page naming conventions etc.
