Welcome to the OLPC Health Portal. We are an interdisciplinary group of projects working on medical-related software, hardware, and content for the XO.

We are working to create a comprehensive set of health modules that are localized to each of the target countries. Over the next several months we will be working to find partners to donate content appropriate for the laptop. We will use that content as a starting point, localizing and extending it to meet the needs of the children in the target countries.

Health Content

We are working to create a comprehensive set of health modules that are localized to each of the target countries. Over the next several months we will be working to find partners to donate content appropriate for the laptop. We will use that content as a starting point, localizing and extending it to meet the needs of the children in the target countries.

Volunteer

We need volunteers! We especially need people who have public health experience in a target country (Libya, Rwanda, Nigeria, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, or Thailand), or speak a language from a target country (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Arabic, Kinyarwanda, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Thai).

If you are interested in volunteering, please check out Getting Started for info on how to contribute, and add your name to the volunteers list. Feel free to contact David Greisen with any questions at dgreisen at gmail dot com with "OLPC" somewhere in the subject line

To Do

  1. Get wiki, mailing list and content repository up and running
  2. Recruit contributors and coordinators
  3. Solicit content donations
  4. Develop content not donated
  5. Localize content
  6. translate content
