We've got engineers working on the hardware, programmers making games for kids to play with, artists making graphics for all the programs and activities, teachers designing lesson plans and writing free textbooks and curricula, entrepreneurs teaching local people how to start laptop-repair businesses, people translating content into all sorts of different languages, students starting university chapters to help out, lawyers and librarians working on getting more content |

We're starting a Summer of Content program and are looking for interns and mentors - especially people that can do projects in languages other than English, and folks from the developing world. If you're interested in participating, or know organizations or people from developing nations that might be interested, we could use help getting the word out in the next 2-3 days. |

See the Boston Game Jam page for what we did at Olin. They're basically work-fests where people come together and make something, start to finish (a movie, a lesson plan, a computer game, whatever) in 2 days and test it with local schoolkids at the end of the weekend. You can make a Jam focusing on anything at all; if you're into swing-dancing, you could even have an OLPC Dance Jam - a whole bunch of dancers making instructional videos so that kids in Tanzania can learn how to Lindy. |
