people

You may want to start a page at OLPC:People with public info from www.laptop.org, info on the contractors and interns here, and links to country pages where there is real activity. (xavi and I have been talking about how to separate the active countries from the inactive ones...) Sj talk 14:03, 3 December 2007 (EST)

welcome

Green and white machine.jpg

Welcome to the One Laptop per Child wiki. Please make yourself at home; read through the Table of Contents and FAQ, and take a look around. If you need a general wiki-tutorial, Wikieducator has some excellent ones.

Some possible pages of interest:

Check your preferences and be sure you verify your email address and turn on email notification if you'd like it -- you can find out when your talk page, or any page on your watchlist, is modified. You may want to upload a photo or information about yourself to your userpage (examples: 1, 2).

Feel free to leave me a note on my talk page if you have further questions or need help finding your way around.

Cheers, Sj

"Jumpy scratchpad" test volunteer

I cc'd this from another page:

I gave up on my ALPS capacitive touch pad and bought a wireless mouse so I could work with the machine. I am a G1G1. I hereby volunteer to be a willing participant in a test of your proposed fix. Lemme know when/how (pls be rather detailed as to how to proceed, as I am >30 yrs of age). Thanks, Bill Wvbailey 17:57, 22 December 2007 (EST)

Thanks a lot, Bill. You should poke Adam to help with this. We have been seeing real variance in jumpiness from machine to machine. Best, --Sj talk to me 19:26, 24 December 2007 (EST)

Priorities and Preferences for wiki edits.

Adam,

Walter forwarded me to you about any preferences or priorities OLPC might have for me to doing wiki page edits and updates. I've been randomly doing little updates as I stumbled upon them, but was thinking you might have a better focus of my time right now. Please let me know how I can best help out, thanks.. --IainD 02:45, 6 January 2008 (EST)

New Template - Right TOC

Adam,

I'm not sure if you noticed, but I have been trying out one of my own templates on a few pages, to see if it helps with readability and user-friendliness. Template:RightTOC I've implemented on -

  1. System Software
  2. Software projects
  3. Software ideas
  4. OLPC Publications

Please let me know your thoughts, and if I should continue added this template to pages which need some help. Or I should refrain from using it. Thanks, --IainD 02:45, 6 January 2008 (EST)

adminship : mop and broom

Dear Holt,

You are now an admin. Use your powers wisely! Please avoid: protecting pages, blocking people (as opposed to bots) or any IP ranges for more than a month, and deleting too boldly.

Remove Sunshine

Hi Adam, could you kindly remove Sunshine_Repair_Group,_Inc. from this wiki?

Thank you, and I wish you all luck on growing OLPC further! --Hiro 03:43, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
