Disassembly and reassembly

Tools:

• \#1 Phillips screwdriver
• 3/8"? 8mm? open end wrench or needle-nose pliers

1. Make sure XO is unplugged.

1. Remove battery

1. Open computer to upright position

1. Turn screen sideways

• (pic: screen turned to allow access to screws)

1. Remove two screws on bottom of body.

• (pic: Show two screws per side)
  1. Turn screen the other way and remove two screws.

1. Remove side covers.

• (pic: two covers, a loose piece under one of them (what is it?), and bared side of XO)

1. Slide screen bezel down and remove.

1. Remove loose griefpad.

1. Remove four large screws holding screen

• Slide screen down to reveal two ribbon cable connecters
• (pic: Screen moved, ribbon cables connected)
• Using pull tab provided, disconnect screen from small connector.
• (pic: Cable disconnected)
• Turn large connector cover up, and with provided pull tab, remove connector.

• Remove screen
• (pic: XO without screen)
• Remove four screws holding hinge to base
• (pic: hinge support)
• (pic: top section separated from base)

1. Remove screws on main board cover

• (pic: Main board uncovered)

1. Remove screws on metal plate on main board

1. Remove screws on main board

1. Unscrew and remove green plastic bits on keyboard assembly

1. Remove back of keyboard
