There are plenty of ways to find out more about the One Laptop per Child project. Here are a few of the communication channels:

Find out about what's going on in your region

Donate

The Give One, Get One program restarted November 17 2008, in partnership with Amazon. See http://laptop.org/xo .

At laptopgiving.org you can contribute in two ways:

Simply give one or more laptops to be sent directly to children in developing countries]
Give many (100 or more laptops), and designate where in the world you would like the laptops sent.

You can also donate to the project

Get involved locally

The first place you should look to get involved with OLPC is in your community. Chances are that there is someone else nearby that is also interested.

Get involved in a regional group or start one!
Run, host, or attend a local OLPC Event (called Jams)
Help out at a nearby Pilot... or start one!
Create a Community Repair Center
Put yourself on the World Map of XO's

Translate

The XO Laptop is deployed to children in many languages; we ♥ people who can help us translate in many ways. You can:

Content

Help us provide free and open content for children along with their XO's.

Help format and edit our wiki
Get involved in artwork projects
Select the best WikiHow articles for the XO
Get involved in the OLPC Health group

Testing

New releases of software builds, activities and library bundles are always in need of testing. You can help by downloading, installing and giving us feedback.

Help test the weekly Friends in testing Sugar build
Help test by downloading and trying Activities
Help test library content by downloading bundles from the Collections page

Software Development

There is a strong developer community, strongly based in Free and Open Software. If you would like to participate:

Read the Developers manual on getting started
Review Activities and develop an activity
Look at the list of open projects
Apply for the Developers program

Hardware

There are a few hardware opportunities for EE's and anyone interested in physical bits and bobs:

Get involved in Community Repair Centers
Develop Peripherals for the XO like the PyDuino
Document additional Power generation options

Volunteer Infrastructure Group

Want to get involved in helping run the OLPC servers and help fix infrastructure problems, and design and implement new systems?
The OLPC Volunteer Infrastructure Group (VIG) supports the rt and trac ticket systems, the development code repository, git, and assists in planning and server bug tracking and fixing.
There are opportunities for both experienced and novice sysadmins to help OLPC and have fun in an intellectually challenging way.

Virtual opportunities
