I would suggest making the dictionary traditional only. It would be easy to create a script that would convert from traditional to simplified, but the other direction is more complicated. This could also be done in the display. Traditional characters contain more information than simplified ones, so storing anything in simplified forces one to discard information. That is just my two cents. |

We are working on the USB measuring sensors for the XO. Here are some [http://wiki.laptop.org/go/User:ZdenekBroz/devices technical details]. We can make the hardware work but we need an application for the XO that will allow kids to work with the sensors. If you are interested we can work together. |

I'm an expert on-line biomedical researcher and so finding content (with suitable licensing) is something I can do well; but converting that content into an XO-friendly content bundle is another matter. I'd like to invite other OLPC volunteers to help. Someone with skills in converting content into XO bundles would be very useful. I was speaking to SJ and he mentioned that you were something of a wikislice wizard. The collection of content has just started, but would you possibly be interested in providing some wikislicing skills to the effort as it develops? |

I am also very interested in working on the dictionaries on the OLPC. There are many things to be done. Right now, I am trying to write a perl script to combine and convert formats of online dictionary data. Your app looks cool, but it seems to be totally based on a static net connection. I want to create something that will work offline as well as on, and perhaps even make a memory card image that can be used to distribute dictionaries easily. I look forward to hearing your ideas. You can contact me at luyufreeculture on Google mail. I am also on Yahoo messenger with that name. |

Hi, I see if this image fits well with your dictionary. Basically I took the top banner you use in the Dictionary, and added my reference book svg.:

wikislicing
Zdenek,
I'm interested in collecting content for a Health Project bundle on Animals and health.
