The School Server Software provides:
- LiveCD installation
- Local Jabber service for school collaborative activities
- Web caching for easy content retrieval
- Recommended to be used with infrastructure Access Points (802.11b/g); such as Zoom 4400 AP ($40)
School Server SW can be loaded on a generic server with the following specifications:
- 1GHz+ x86 processor, 1+ GB main memory
- USB interfaces and an external disk drive
- One or more 300-500GB+ drive
- Two 100baseT network interfaces
- Cost: $600+
