Ben, just saw this page - if you're thinking of stopping by for the Jam, Friday night (5pm-whenever) will probably be the best day to talk to developers especially if you'd like them to incorporate health themes into their games since that is when brainstorming will be going on. Come Sunday at 3:30pm if you want to see the finished games - your call. Of course, we'd love to have you stop by anytime during the Jam (5pm Friday June 8 to 5:30pm Sunday June 10); you can leave a note on my User_talk:Mchua talk page if you have any questions - do let us know when you'll be stopping by! : Hi Mchua. Thanks for dropping me a line. I will shoot for Friday eve. Hopefully I'll be able to come by again later in the weekend, too. I sent out a survey to our field offices last week asking for examples of games that are already in use. Hopefully that will yield some interesting ideas, maybe even before the weekend. Either way, I'm excited to meet folks and start getting to know the OLPC enviroment and project. I'm hoping that we're able to do some really innovative work in or inconjuction with the project. - :) Ben Nardone:: My Talk:: Internship:: GameJam:: Peru:: Nigeria 08:59, 4 June 2007 (EDT) |

Game Jam?
I'm wondering if there's something that might even be pulled together in time for the upcoming Game Jam. Talk to me if you have thoughts.
I'm going to try to stop by for at least one day.
If my staff RH games survey yields fruit in time, I'll try to get that out there in hopes that it inspires someone. I'm toying with the idea of offering some sort of prize for 'best incorporation of some theme or message that i supply from the survey.' Wondering how that would go over? I'd be kicking in out of my own pocket (I don't have any company or grant money to spend on this yet), so I can't really seed with too much, but I'll mention it as a possibility.
Thoughts? Suggestions? talk to me:
