Welcome

Greetings. . . . .

iXO on vacation

I want to welcome you to our first initial pilot issue of the OLPC Weekly News. Several weeks in the making... We have assembled a great team of volunteers to help assemble summaries of the vast amount of OLPC information available. The hope is to help keep everyone informed on what's going on, what's new, and what's coming up...

I hope you like it. And if you are excited for future issues, or have something to contribute, please don't hesitate to drop any of our editorial board a note. As we expand and cover more areas, we will also be looking for more volunteers to give us a hand, please contact us if interested.

Here's what this issue contains. . .

Volunteer Profile

There are many many volunteers working with OLPC that deserve credit. This section will try to highlight some of these volunteers and give a brief overview of what they are working on, and about them. The first subject we would like to introduce is; DyDisMe (Ian Thomas Daniher), age 16. He is currently coordinating the TeleHealth projects and has been instrumental in launching other projects as well.

WikiNews

The OLPC wiki was added to the interwiki map on the MetaWikiPedia, and will soon be able to be linked to using [[OLPC:ArticleName]] on all WikiMedia sites. Soon, Sj will add wikipedia: to the OLPC's interwiki map.

Three new administrators were created on the wiki this week, Adam Holt, Kim Quirk, and Chih-yu Chao.
