A question was asked on the question page about local user groups for owners of the "get 1" half of the "give 1 get 1" program. This page is a list of known user groups.

This isn't an exhaustive list.

Groups might also set up their own Jabber server, since there isn't one set up for the owners as a whole, due to scale and cost issues.

Interior Alaska

Lylah Caldwell is interested in helping start a user group in the Fairbanks/North Pole area for XO users. She has started a Yahoo Group for that purpose located here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/XO_interior

Eugene, Oregon

An XO user group is being formed in Eugene. Jane Krauss began the group on November 16.

Seattle, Washington - SeaXO User Group

An XO user group is being formed in Seattle, Washington.

Check http://www.SeaXO.com for the latest information. As we're all waiting for our XO computers, there's not very much to announce just yet. Certainly, a meetup and a chance to try out the Mesh network capabilities will be high on everybody's list. In the next few weeks more will be added to the site.

Washington DC

The OLPC News team is organizing a OLPC Learning Club for the DC Metro area. We'll be having our first meeting on December 18 with guest speakers and (hopefully) a mass XO mesh. Come by and co-learn!

Minneapolis/St. Paul

Brian Basgen Looking to form an XO group for Southern Arizona, particularly the Tucson area, with a focus on using the laptop in our local school systems.

A XO user group is starting at Games Cafe in Kaohsiung on Saturday afternoons. We're only on emulators now, but hopefully will be getting the real thing soon. Contact Tobey (at) Playgames (dot) tw for more info.

I have ordered 2 XO laptops through G1G1. When the laptops arrive to me it will be possible to look and feel them at Stockholm Linux User Group http://stockholm.lug.se/

I have ordered a laptop to be delivered to my home (in Vermont) Hopefully I'll have it and am based in Leeds UK now anyone else getting one?
