New and Exciting Projects!
|
- OPLC UK Pilot - London 2009 In developing OLPC (UK) we aim to establish a 100% volunteer organization and platform for OLPC in the United Kingdom. The intent of OLPC (UK) is to support the deployments of XO computers towards solving defined needs in UK schools paired with schools in developing countries.
- Notalon: Note-Taking Software Notalon is note-taking, simplified. Its aim is to streamline your focus on taking notes on books and during class lectures.
New Lending Libraries
- Australia/New Zealand Laptop Lending Library This system aims to facilitate the usage of esources by the OLPC community. Whether by rallying engineers around projects or utilising an XO that has been sitting in someone's cupboard for the last 6 months.
- SF State Univ Lending Library San Francisco State University would like to help the OLPC project by starting a lending library at the main campus. The purpose would be to help increase awareness of OLPC’s goals by letting faculty, staff and students borrow the XO computers.
- UK Lending Library Repair Centre The combined Lending Library / Repair Centre serves to support the OLPC mission and community via lending out laptops to UK volunteers / contributors, facilitate with space, materiel, and expertise XO repairs by volunteers, and encourage, enable, and support Contributor Program applicants from the UK.
- Washington, DC Learning Club The LC-DC's Lending Library (L4DC) is an effort to expand the grassroots seeding efforts that we've started with our monthly meetups at our various meeting places. We will attempt to provide an enviornment by which people can start projects quickly and find a place to work alongside others with similar interests to do new and exciting things with the XO and Sugar.
