Translating a document is not always easy, translating a wiki-document under frequent editions not only demands a constant synchronization and reworkings, but even more importantly being able to record the wiki-version that has been translated last, and thus be able to spot the differences to the latest version. In order to try solve some of this issues a pair of templates, together with a mini-framework has been devised. They three parts are:

Template:Translated Page
a flexible template to include in all translations, that keeps track of:
  • version - of the translated page (today it's the current, tomorrow who knows)
  • diff - from the current to the translated version (easy updating pages)
  • original - simple link to the source page
  • other - publishes all other language versions to which the original has been translated
  • categorization - automatically adds the page to this category
Template:Translations
simply publishes in the original document, all other language versions of it.
somePage/translations
the page that holds the wiki links to all other language versions.

Please refer to the template's pages to see their documentation.

Because the new scheme is more apt for a wiki (specially keeping track of the actual version used for the translation) is that the TranslatedFrom template should be avoided and replaced by the above wherever possible.
